What Customers Say About Cobra HH ROAD TRIP Compact Handheld CB Radio:

Cobra makes top quality stuff. They are very useful, especially for emergencies, and inexpensive.

I can get in touch with police if I need help or talk to truckers or friends. The short antenna that comes with it will work well if you are traveling with friends, and actually picks up OK otherwise.

The CB is really great. I found it surprising that in Europe CB radios are much more popular.

But, I got a 54 inch Cobra antenna (with the converter plug) and get a much wider reception/broadcast. Best would be to just buy the hand held CB and antenna separately, and cheaper, but that short rubber antenna has its uses too.

No long term contracts with limited minutes. The radar detectors are tops, and less expensive than those of competitors.

This product works very well and easy to set up and use. It has assisted in my travels between Indianapolis and Chicago with road and traffic conditions, especially in avoiding delays in many construction zones. It has also helped me avoid entanglements with troopers in those areas.

If this type radio can suit your needs, then this is the one to buy. The fact that this unit also comes with a 'cigarette-lighter plug' helps save on battery usage while in your automobile. Again, if i were using this daily, I would pick a larger, more expensive radio with a larger and clearer speaker and a better microphone.

The Roadtrip has good sending power, the accompanying rooftop magnet mount antenna is secure in place at highway speeds and is tuneable for best performance, but, still, it is short and does limit the performance this radio could deliver. The rubber duck antenna is definitely a short range convenience unit when carring it as a portable. If I were a long-haul trucker using CBs every day, I would purchase a larger, more permanently mounted radio for use.

But, as the Roadtrip name implies (to me anyway), It is designed to be used on a road trip, in a group or convoy, to pick up some radio and road traffic chatter, not to have an extended conversation on. A better quality magnet mount adds immeasurably to this radio's performance. In this small package is a correspondingly small speaker which is not great for your listening pleasure but it does the job.

You will definitely not make or receive any long distance communications in the portable mode. All in all, I'm glad I have this great little standby CB and it's price is extremely reasonable for the unit it is.Cobra, Roadtrip's maker, has been in the CB business for a long, long, time and they never made junk radios.

The sound quality is excellent. It has good range for a portable.

This one runs off the cars electrical outlet and is easy to move from car to car. I tried other handhelds and they were useless.

It is easy to hook up and operate. My commute is mostly interstate with lots of construction.

The radio has already saved me valuable time when there is a backup. The antenna stays secure on the roof.

I think it is a good choice for the commuter or vacationer.

this is a good radio for road trips with the rug rats.i use every vacation.if you need to know what lane to get in to get around a wreck or if you what to know where a good place to stop for lunch is on a budget or where is the best gas prices.who better then a trucker, with this you can do it.also dont forget about the weather this one has it.
